Paul Davis Restoration of Greater Lawrence & Topeka, as a part of PDR's sixth annual Restoring America program, used its resources of time and materials to make improvements to a home in need of extensive front access repairs. Disabled military war veteran, Bill Peters, owns the home, located in Winchester, Kansas.

Paul Davis Restoring America is a home improvement initiative designed to help those who cannot afford or are physically unable to fix up their homes. PDR coordinates every phase of the project, including time, labor and materials to complete the project.

Bill Peters, had been confined to his home, and left only for doctor's visits, due to the extreme difficulty involved with navigating the doors and stairs of his home. Paul Davis Restoration selected the family as its project recipient after working with the local VFW office to locate a veteran in need. Paul Davis Restoration decided to fix the home at no charge as part of its Restoring America 2006 program. Repairs included removing old steps and a walkway from the front of the home and installing a concrete ramp to allow comfortable wheelchair access. Overall, the safety and livability of the home and front access was significantly improved.
Our office has participated in Restoring America since 2004. We truly believe we can make a difference in the quality of a person's life by making some much-needed home repairs and are pleased to have identified such a worthy individual. This effort was an extension of the kind of services that we provide every day.
